Member Benefits
Members of the Western Australian Camera Club enjoy a range of benefits:
Fellowship
Education

Law Student - Richard Goodwin
Set - First place members' choice and first place judge's choice
Among the club’s key objectives is the ongoing education of its members. An annual syllabus sets out a program designed to extend and challenge members’ talents and abilities.
The club’s monthly workshops offer the opportunity for members to advance their knowledge of many aspects of photography.
Regular excursions also provide informal learning opportunities.
Being active in a camera club is a certain way of continually expanding your understanding of picture taking and presentation of images.
Benchmarking
Through the club’s monthly competitions, a member’s work is evaluated alongside that of other members. Our independent external judges assess each competition entry and provide constructive comment on its merits.
The standard of members’ photographic output is therefore constantly increasing as they learn more, correct faults and strive harder to compete.
Community Participation
Because the WA Camera Club is affiliated with the Western Australian Photographic Federation, an extensive range of additional opportunities to participate in photographic challenges and “adventures” are open to our members.
The WAPF is the peak body of all the State’s 26 camera clubs. The Federation and other clubs run activities, such as weekend shooting sessions, statewide competitions and guest lectures, which are also open to our club members.
Many of our members also have their own websites and participate in other photographic endeavours outside the club.
Links to member websites and to the WAPF's website can be found on our 'Interesting Links' page.
